30th August 2000

Oh My God!

We all shouted at once! I simply cannot believe it's the end of August already! Where has this year gone to? It seems only a few weeks ago we were celebrating the millenium and now it'll soon be Christmas!

With this in mind I am amazed at the lack of news on the Vulcan website, okay here's what's been going on.

The Mother Model Creator is now DirectX 7 compatible and in it's seventh version, it now incorporates many of the Mother World Builder functions. This is good news as the entire package is forming itself into a solid application catering for advanced 3d game creation. Over the next few months we should see a dedicated website to this application with full updates of the tools capabilities and latest downloads. So much has happened with this application that I'll wait until that website is up and running before trying to explain the newer functions.

We have decided to cease development of Caveman Species and Pure Fear to enable us to place greater emphasis on our Mother3D tool development and the three other PC games, this will allow us to release a product sooner rather than later. On this note, Dark Futures (formerly known as Shock Marines) is coming along nicely as is GalaxoStromo the 3d space simulator that will claim a breakthrough in reality of any current 3d project.

Valhalla3D is coming together and we are finally seeing the 3d world forming into an early stage of the games design, in the coming weeks will be launching a specific Valhalla website that will show early screenshots. We are all exited at this project and have some surprises up our sleeves for you Valhalla fans out there, more on this shortly.

Development aside, Vulcan are ticking along nice and quietly, sadly we have not been to any of the recent shows or exhibitions but once our main development phase 'comes closer to an end' we will pick this activity up again. I think we are all feeling a bit numb having spent so long in development without launching a commercial product to financially fuel our fire. Still the release of Vulcan public shares in January has helped us maintain a healthy direction and enabled us to see the end of this long road.

As our tools and game projects get closer to completion we will soon be starting to look for a suitable publishing partner, once again, more news on this as it breaks.

Live Long & Prosper!
